Sketchy Saturday - 5/14/11

SKETCH #98

PRODUCTS USED: I used The Scrap Room's September 2010 Kit. I used Fancy Pants' Family line. I also used my new Sew Easy tool for the stitching. How fun it is to use this tool! Thickers played a role in this layout too! I did a little stamping and some flower/button stash to complete this one!

Sketchy Saturday - 5/7/11

SKETCH #94
"MAXIN N RELAXIN"
PRODUCTS USED: I used my March 2011 Kit from The Scrap Room for this one! All the papers are from th Bella Blvd Sophisticates line. These papers worked out really well for these pix. The flower and leaf pins were also part of this kit! I used Thickers for my title as always. I had some brown ribbon in my stash I used for a little extra touch. To complete this layout, I used my new Elmer's Painters Marker in white for the outline of the pix. I didn't necessarily want to mat the pix, but they did need something. This worked great!

Give this sketch a go and see what you can do with it! You have one week to post your layout here. After that, you can post in "2011 Layouts" section of this blog. Have fun! Cant' wait to see what you do!

Sketchy Saturday - 4/30/11

SKETCH #93

"HIDE & SEEK"
PRODUCTS USED: I used Echo Park's new line For The Record for ALL the papers and embellies. I added a little bling I had to the center of the flower stickers. I used Thickers for my title as always. For the stitching around the blackish circle, I used a plastic stencil and my white gel roller pen. I did a little stamping and fee-hand doodling to finish it off!

SO - show me what you can do with this sketch! You have ONE week from today to post your layout and link back to your blog. After that, you can post your layout in the 2011 Layouts tab at the top of the page.

HAVE FUN~!

SKETCH #92
"LOVE & MARRIAGE"
I used SEI's Chocolat paper pack for all the papers. I love this pack. Very girly! I used a plastic template for the dotted circle and some flowers and button stash. The title again is Thickers!

Give it a go and let me see what you come up with! Don't forget to leave a comment and post your layout below with a link back to your blog/site. You only have ONE week. After that, you can post in the "2011 Layouts" section of my blog! Enjoy!

Sketchy Saturday - 4/16/11

SKETCH #91
"THE CLAW"
I used up some stash on this one. It's really hard for me to use my stash lately. I can't seem to make anything coordinate very well. I used Thickers for the title. I used a plastic template for the stitched circle and my white gel pen. For the journaling, I printed it out on clear sticker paper and carefully adhered it to some cardstock. That's about it! No special tricks here! LOL

Give this sketch a try and post your layout below with a link back to your blog/site. Don't forget to leave a comment too. Thanks! Have fun!!

Fun

I finished another awesome sketch from Sketch Inspiration! Sketch #215
Head on over and see what you can do with it!!
I used the April 2011 Kit from The Scrap Room.
This layout used My Mind's Eye Stella n Rose, Gertie.
Everything you see came from this part of the kit except for the blingy flourish and the journaling strips, oh and the pix, of course!
I added my own little touches with the white dots on the scallops and sparkle on the big flower. I did a little inking on the title and the striped piece as well as the scallops and journaling strips.

Devotional 4/9/11

Ephesians 4:31-32

Get rid of all bitterness,
rage and anger,
brawling and slander,
along with every form of malice.
Be kind and compassionate
to one another,
forgiving each other,
just as Christ God forgave you.

Sketchy Saturday - 4/9/11

SKETCH #86
 "TRUE LOVE"
I used SEI Chocolat paper pad for all the papers I used. The "true" in my title are Thickers letters. Now, for the "love" in the title, Making Memories has these awesome shimmer chipboard words that are to die for! I found some blingy flowers to add and used my white Color Box liquid chalk ink pad with some border stamps from Hampton Art. I did a little doodling and there you go!

If you try this sketch out, please link your sketch below and leave me a comment. I would love to see your take on it! Good luck and have fun!

Three More Chicago Layouts DONE!!

Since the Lucky You online crop at Have Your Way With Paper has finished, activity has been a bit slow in our gallery, so Trisha dared us to create some layouts this weekend! I took her dare and showed her a thing or two.....or THREE! LOL
*****
The title for this one is supposed to be "more than a TASTE of chicago". I'm really hoping that comes across. Anyway, I used Thickers for my title and one of Bo Bunny's new lines, Ad Lib. I love this line. It's so fun!! The collage is actually from Scrapbooks Etc. They have a bunch of collage templates. I just saved the template on my computer and then opened it up in PhotoShop Elements to add the pix.
*****
This was a really fun layout to do! I used Sketch Inspiration's Sketch #212 and Little Yellow Bicycle's Twig line. Twig actually came from The Scrap Room's March 2011 Kit. Can I say that March is over and I still haven't used even HALF of the kit!!! I printed my journaling strips on regular white paper using MS Word. Then I just cut them in strips to fit the squares and attached them!
*****
This turned out soooo much better than I had anticipated! I used the Hopscotch line from The Scrap Room's March 2011 kit!! I still have tons of that left too! I used another collage template from Scrapbooks Etc. These are some very handy little things lately!!! The big heart on the bottom right was actually punched through in the center and on around. I used little bits and pieces of this line to fill in the holes. That took a little while to do, but well worth the work! I did a little doodling and inking and VOILA! DONE!

Sketchy Saturday - 4/2/11

SKETCH #89
" FREEZIN FOR A REASON"
PRODUCTS USED:  All papers came from Cloud 9 Design (Colorbok). I love these papers! The entire paper pack coordinates and makes it so easy to put a layout together!  The snowflake ribbon is actually one of the $1 spools from JoAnn's. A self adhesive ribbon, mind you! The puffy snowflake stickers are from Recollections. I think I actually found these on 50% sale the other day! A great buy!

Taking the yellow from the slide in the pictures, I decided to use it as my accent color. I didn't want there to be a ton of yellow, so I matted the pictures with a very thin line of yellow cardstock and just a little touch of it on the top and bottom of the striped paper. I used my Dymo for the date and journaling strips. After I faux stitched the journaling block, I pop dotted it to add just a little bit of dimension.

All in all, I would have to say that I really really like this layout!

Link your creation below and let us all see what you have created! Be sure to leave a comment stating you linked your layout too!

This post is sponsored by the letter "D"

DREAMS – The women in my family have a thing when it comes to dreams. We have “premonition” dreams. For example….I had a dream once when I was young where I was sitting at a kitchen table with a little boy in front of me and another, older, little boy asked me (in spanish – which was really weird cuz I had never dreamt in spanish before) if I wanted some bread. Well, 5 years later I’m in Argentina in my Aunt’s kitchen and low and behold…..that dream was REAL!! It was exactly the same! Every single detail!! The little boy at the table with me? He wasn’t even five yet!! So, when I dreamt it, he wasn’t even a thought yet. These two boys, I had never even met! Not even in pictures!

DISLOCATED SHOULDER – When I was little, my sisters and I were in Trisha’s bedroom. She and Sandra were on her bed and Trisha wanted me to get on the bed too. I didn’t want to, but she tried to force me by grabbing my wrist and pulling me up off the floor. After I screeched, mom and dad came running. I was rushed to the ER for x-rays. My shoulder had been dislocated. I don’t remember having my shoulder put back in place, but I do remember the pain when they needed to get x-rays.

DIVORCE – I never ever thought I would get a divorce. And if I ever did, I would never marry again. Well, I did get divorced and it was the best thing that could have happened. I will say, though, when I thought about it, I felt like I was letting God down. I felt like I lied to Him. I know now that He would never had wanted me to stay in that situation. I have also decided (come to terms) that I do not need to remarry.

DEPRESSION – For the first year after my divorce, I was happy. I lost weight, I had money, Nathan was a wonderful child, etc. Well, then things changed. I noticed myself crying more and being more lazy and not wanting to do anything. It wasn’t until Nathan asked me one night, “Why you sad, Momma?” I burst into tears! That very next morning I called and made an appointment with my doctor.
DVR – I don’t know what I would do without my DVR! Yes, I have a VCR still, but I LOVE my DVR!! It makes the fall season so much easier to watch. Especially since I don’t have to stay up until 11:00pm AND can record up to 14 hours worth of shows!

DROID X – My first toy, in a really long time, where I totally splurged on myself. When I heard about the Droid X, I promised myself I was going to get it and treat myself to a really NICE new item! I LOVE IT!

DANNY KAYE – He is the greatest! He is one of my favorite comedic actors ever!! So many of his movies crack me up. Any time I see that he is in a movie, I immediately want to watch it.

“DOT” – This was my nickname in High School. Why? Well, if you look closely, you will notice a mole on the tip of my nose. The guys Senior year decided that “Dot” fit me quite well! I even had my own theme song….”I love you period. Do you love me question mark. Please, please exclamation point. I wanna hold you in parenthesis.” Oh the memories!

Sketchy Saturday - 3/19/11

SKETCH #87
"CHILLIN FOR NEW YEARS"
The background paper is Bazzill cardstock. All patterned papers are from My Mind's Eye, Complete Boy. The title mat is simply a piece of 'cardboard' which came with a paper pack. I used Thickers for the title as always. The memo pin is from Tim Holtz. I got the date circle from Maya Road. The little flags are from Jenni Bowlin.

I pop-dotted the title mat so it would lay flat and even. Once I slid it into the memo pin, it was no longer flat. The pop dots worked great! I also pop dotted the date circle just to add a little more dimension. For the flags, I had to outline them in black. I needed them to not blend into the background.

Let me see what you can do with this sketch byl inking your layout below and leaving a comment that you've done that!

Halloween 2010

This layout was created using sketch #211 from Sketch Inspiration. A fun sketch for sure! Ok, it kinda took a life of it's own once I got started, but I really like how it turned out! Head on over and see what you can come up with! There's a great prize this week!
I wish I could tell you what products I used, but really, I just checked my halloween stash. I chose the plaid paper because of my plaid coat. I think it worked out great! I can tell you that my title is Thickers. I used some circle cutters to do my outlines around the circles.
