To complete Challenge #5 from Have Your Way With Paper's CHRISTMAS CROP Weekend.....I took my inspiration from Jenny's "My 3 Best Gifts" layout.
Everything I used was a scrap of some kind.

Work of Art, Sketch #44
I hate to brag on myself, but I have to say.....this came out awesome!!! Much better than anticipated!!! Again, I used one of my own sketches, inspired by Have Your Way With Paper's Circle Challenge #3 for our CHRISTMAS CROP!
I used S.E.I.'s Addison paper pack for all the papers. The letters are all Thickers. When I laid all the papers down and the matted photos on top, the paper just blended into the background. So, to make them kind of stand on their own, I inked some edges. I used Color Box cat's eye chalk ink pads. I used white for the striped edges, brown for the bubbly edges and darke green for the circles.
As for how I made the circles; I used my Accent Essentials Cricut cartridge. Set with a depth cut of 6, 11" and mid speed with full pressure. Totally love this cartridge. It is so versatile! I used my handy dandy old-school Dymo Label Maker for the date. And......VOILA!!!

Queen Roe
I totally love this layout! This is my dear friend, Roe, from Have Your Way With Paper. It's part of my "HYWWP Texas Retreat" book. It came out much better than I had expected!
This 8x8 layout was made with scraps and bits and pieces. I couldn't tell you who made what 'cuz I dunno.

December Happenings!!
I think December is, by far, the most beautiful month of the year. Its a time when everything is wrapped in sparkly splendor of silver and gold, trees glowing with tinsil and twinkle lights.
Its when darling little children are dressed in beautiful dresses and handsome suits, sitting atop the lap of the jolly man in red, whispering their deepest wants into his ear. Its snowmen and sleighrides...where red makes a striking contrast to the white snow that blankets our green winter wonderland.
It is fluffy soft or delicate heirloom stockings hanging above a crackling fire in a home just bursting with the scents of home baked
goods in the oven.
Its friends and family... near and far. A time for reflection and thankfulness for the greatest gift given in a small barn in Bethlehem. Its a time for the festival of lights... eight of them on a beautiful
candelabra and spinning the dreidel for little chocolate pieces.
Whatever December holds for you, big or small... May you be richly blessed and have a wonderful Holiday season! (Oh! ...And don't forget to clear that memory card, charge those batteries and get a tape for that video camera! Last thing you want, is
for something to go wrong during the countless photo opportunities this month! :)

Surviving December
December. It’s busy. It’s full. Let’s face it, it can be downright stressful. We need to attempt to take some time to enjoy and embrace what this season holds….family, friends, traditions, and the everyday events. I’m hoping these simple suggestions will help you capture in words and/or pictures this season of joy.
*Keep those receipts and tags. They can make great embellishments for future layouts and be wonderful keepsakes to look back on someday.
*We often take pictures of the “after the decorations are up” pictures. Why not capture a few candids of the actual decorating? Those are the memories you want to remember.
*Tis the Season of Baking. Make copies of the holiday recipes you used, take pictures of everyone helping out in the kitchen (or have someone take a pic of you in the kitchen!), and keep those grocery receipts.
*What are your favorite holiday books? Snap a picture of those books or even better yet, take a picture of reading those books as a family or an older child reading to younger child.
*Keep your child’s wishlist. Have them write down their wishes in their writing. If they can’t write, have them draw what they want. These will be PRICELESS.
*Keep a copy of your child’s letter to Santa. Even better, have him/her include why she/he deserves the items on the list. Even more fantastic…scrap a picture of them working hard on this letter.
*Make a Top 5 List of Family Traditions. Lists are easy and make for great journaling.
