Oh Fall

Except for the journaling, this is my favorite comleted layout for the Cream of The Crop Weekend over at Have Your Way With Paper. It's not that I don't like my handwriting, it's just that my spacing was off and I just don't like that, that's all.The About Fall (#4) Challenge wa to create a layout stating what I love about fall. I could have done a layout without pictures, but I couldn't resist using these amazing fall pictures of my son.

I used Crate Paper's Lemon Grass line for this layout. I love this line because it is so versatile. It's also a wonderful fall paper to use as well. You can create a wonderful fall page without it being too dark or dull. And THAT, I love!

For the word "fall" I used my favorite letters....Thickers! For the "Oh" I used CLoud 9's foil edged letters.

I did a little inking and sanding on this layout too. I sanded the edges of the pictures and the striped paper as well. I think it adds a little texture to it. I used my black fine tipped marker to add some doodling as well. Pop dots were used to lift the flower for some fun dimension! I layered like this: pop dot, flower, pop dot, flower. I love the effect.

Lisa 2 The Rescue

Have Your Way With Paper has some great challenges going on this weekend for their Cream Of The Crop Weekend! One of the challenges is the Had To Have You (#3) challenge and the Giggles (#8) Challenge. The following layout incorporates both challenges in one.

I used BoBunny's Flutter Butter 8x8 papers for this one. A wonderful line, if I do say so myself! I used my Cuttlebug for the embossed paper in the center. Once embossed, I sanded it and added some greenish ink for a different effect. I also sanded the edges of the photos. With some black ink my clear acrylic stamp, I stamped a flourish in the bottom right corner. Before the ink could have time to dry, I sprinkled some glitter over it and rubbed it in. This gives the effect of some minor glitter, without all the hassle. It's actually pretty fun and very easy.

Friends & Family

Another layout designed around one of the many challenges on Have Your Way With Paper. This was based on Sketch #13, from our very own, Trisha. She posted this sketch as a challenge for this weekend's Crop Weekend.

The paper is from BoBunny's Alissa collection. I didn't really want to add any other papers because I thought this was just enough for what I wanted to do.

I used a bling flourish on the top right corner and a bling arrow in the center. This was a pain in the neck to attach to the page because it is so flimsy and keeps sticking to itself. I still love it, though and will more than likely continue to use it. However, if any of you have any suggestions or tips on how to attach it easily, please let me know.

I used my handy-dandy Dymo Label Maker (from back in the day) for the journaling (click HERE for a demo). For the bottom flourish I just used one of my clear stamps and some black ink. I did a little doodling above the journaling strips for a little added touch.

Good Times

A fun layout I created for the Scrapping Challenge #6 (Fun Times 2) and #8 (Giggles) over at Have Your Way With Paper for their weekend crop this weekend.

I used BoBuny's 8x8 combo pack containing Flutter Butter, Delilah and Alissa papers. I mounted the title on pop dots for a little dimension. To adhere the flowers, I put the brad through the flowers and opened up the back. Then, I used a large glue dot and stuck it to the back of the flower then to the page (a fun technique someone taught me a while back).

Not much journaling done on this one. I figured this was one of those layouts where the pictures say it all!

Loads of Sketches

Ok, so Scrapbooks Etc is kind enough to share TONS of sketches with us all. Here are just a few samples of what they have to offer:

Take your pick from 8.5x11, 12x12, 2-page, Single Photo, or Multi-Photo Sketches! Wow, now that's a variety of choices. Have fun!

November Happenings!!
November? Already? That can only mean one thing... the holidays are just around the corner! (eek!)

November is laced with trees in full autumn color, thankful families gathering around the table to celebrate their blessings, children bundled in warm sweaters, holiday bizarres, cornucopias, Black Friday adventures... the list could go on and on!

Aside from the obvious blessings such as family, friends and health, I encourage you to step outside yourself and evaluate where you are. What are you the most thankful for at this time in your life? What has changed in your life since last November when you last declared your list? Document it. Are you having the same traditional Thanksgiving buffet dinner or are you going to try something new? Write it down. Big or small, November is bursting with wonderful photographing and scrapbooking opportunities! How will you embrace yours?

Turkey Day Photo Tips

Here are some photo tips to make you want to develop those Turkey Day photos on Thanksgiving evening!

1.Don't be afraid to pose your subjects. You will NOT regret it after seeing the photos!

2.Be above eye level! Get those cups, glasses, dishes, bottles, out of the main focus.

3.What a wonderful time to get those generation photos when you have the whole family together.

4.Classic Dinner Table Photo (remember take from above and don't get anyone eating!) Ahhh...smiling faces getting ready to dive in. That's how you remember this day so get a shot of it! Just remember to NOT get people eating. NO ONE looks good eating. :)

5.The Turkey Carving - screams Thanksgiving and you can spotlight the special person carving.

6.Table settings and centerpieces. Memories come flooding back once we see these familiar decorations.

7.Home Sweet Home. Take a picture of the outside of the home where Thanksgiving is hosted - preferably with some family members!

8.Get in the kitchen. Get some prep shots of the food. Does Grandma always do the mashed potatoes? Get a shot of her with the mixer. Does Aunt Sue make some mean sweet pototoes? Get a pic of that. And, over coffee and pie, get the recipes and tuck those away to put in your scrapbooks as well.

9.While the kitchen is hopping with dinner preparations, what does the rest of the family do? Watch football, play football, play card games, geek at the parade? Snap, snap!

1.Last, but defintely not least......Turn over the camera and get in some pictures yourself!

Jillibean Soup
From the Jillibean Soup website: So why do you scrap? I’ve asked myself this question several times and my only explanation is that I love it. I’m completely obsessed. Not only is it a creative outlet but it gives me great joy when I’m crafting. Also, I get to buy some oh-so very cute, yummy, scrumptious papers and embellishments. Yes, I’m a collector of scrapbook stuff. Plain and simple, I have way too much and keep buying more. Like you, I LOVE this hobby. I’ve never had so much passion for anything in my life – with the exception of my family.

After numerous discussions with my hubby, lots of research and lots of prayer, I decided I had the guts and gusto to try out my own line of scrapbooking materials. With the recent return of kraft paper into the craft industry I decided that my first line would be designed and printed on kraft paper and I love it. It’s different, it’s fun, and it can be used for all types of paper crafting! It was difficult to find kraft paper that is acid free and lignin free in a folio size, so we custom manufactured our kraft paper – it’s one of a kind and it’s made from 100% recycled stock.

So why “Jillibean Soup”? “Jillibean” was a nickname that a childhood neighbor called me. “Soup” just sounded good with Jillibean. It has allowed me to do some creative naming of products, packaging, and original marketing.

Jillibean Soup products are manufactured with close attention to color, detail and design. Jillibean Soup offers you fresh, innovative products of the best quality. We pride ourselves in finding the best ingredients and creating fun designs you can use forever. We hope you love them as much as we do!

Arbuckle Acres

***July 12, 2009***
This layout was inspired by one of the October Challenges on Have Your Way With Paper; the Scrap Pink Ad Challenge.

It's not exactly the same, but it gave me a great starting point.

I used Memory Keepers Scrapbook Pad "Grandma's Kitchen" for all the papers. This paper pad also includes some punch out which I used a few of here. After I tore some of the edges, I inke a bit with brown.

My letter are, of course, Thickers letters. "Acres" is actually blank cipboard letters which I prettied up. I used my water marker and pulled some green, orange, brown and yellow and layered it on there; one color ar a time. Once that was dry, I used my water marker with my pearlescence water colors and used the same colors and same technique. Once that was dry, I glued the letters on my layout and let sit for about 20 minutes (to make sure they were nice and dry). I then grabbed my black Zig maker (the fat edge) and outlined each letter.

All Life Is An Experiment

***July 12, 2009***

This layout was based off on one of Page Maps' sketches. All the paper used came from Crate Paper's "Lemon Grass" line. Even the cutout leaf vine was included in their paper pack.

Can I say? I totally LOVE this line. It is so versatile and fun to use!

I used Fiskar's "Threading Water" punch on the bottom of the striped paper strip and EK Success's "Dotted Scallop Edger Punch" at the top of the striped paper. I thought that would make a nice contrast.

I used some tarnished silver brads to attach my vellum quote, which I decided to use as the title.

Breast Cancer Awareness

World Card Making Day

Yes! World Card Making Day has come upon us yet again!

WHAT: World Card Making Day is a holiday especially for card makers around the world to:
Celebrate the creativity of handmade cards and the personal connection that they create between friends and family
Kick off (and get a head start on) the holiday card-making season

WHEN: The first Saturday of each October, kicking off the holiday card-making season, the most popular time for creating and sharing handmade greetings.

WHO: The card-making community worldwide, including hobbyists, beginning card makers, manufacturers of card-making products, retail sellers of products, educators, and press are invited to come together to celebrate this holiday and creative passion.

WHY: It is a day to connect with fellow card makers both near and far, to applaud the creativity that powers the craft, and to provide an opportunity for card makers to connect and find resources that will empower, inspire, and encourage them in their card making.

A little history on today: World Card Making Day began in 2006 as National Card Making Day. Founded by Paper Crafts magazine to bring card makers together at the beginning of the busiest card-making season of the year, it was first held on October 7, 2006. The initial celebration involved the Paper Crafts magazine audience only; however, due to the positive response it received and the worldwide popularity of card making, the holiday became known as World Card Making Day from then on.

Now in its fourth year, World Card Making Day is celebrated annually on the first Saturday in October. It's a day for the card-making community -- hobbyists, retailers, and manufacturers -- to unite and celebrate the connection and creativity that is the heart of card making.

The origin of exchanging handmade greeting cards can be traced all the way back to ancient Chinese culture.

Today, card making is a worldwide hobby, especially popular in Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
1 in 6 U.S. households participates making cards
86% of scrapbookers also create handmade cards
92% of paper crafters create cards more than any other type of project
========================================
Creating a handmade card brings a special kind of joy. There’s joy in the process of creating, as well as in giving and receiving handmade cards.

Handmade cards are:
GIFTS. It is a little sliver of energy, time, and love that says, "I really care about you" in a world of impersonal communications such as e-mails.

CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS. Beneath the cardstock and embellishments is emotion from the card maker--encouragement, celebration, commemoration, and love.

KEEPSAKES. Instead of being thrown away, they are cherished and displayed

RELATIONSHIP BUILDERS. They spark deep connections, express feelings, evoke laughter, and warm the hearts of friends, relatives, and co-workers.

The top occasions/themes for making cards are:

Birthdays
Winter Holidays (Christmas, New Year’s, etc.)
Thank You
Valentine’s Day
Mother’s Day

Card makers prefer stamps and rub-ons for use on their holiday handmade cards
73% of card makers use their computer in part or all of their design
==============================
Retailers participating in this Holiday can be found HERE! See if there's a retailer near you which you can visit today!

HYWWP October '09 Newsletter

Hello and happy October everyone!
October is one of my most favorite months of the year, taking a very
close second to December. I love how, with October, comes crisp air that officially begins "sweater weather", piles of colorful leaves, football season, pumpkins with faces and children getting ready for Halloween night! Its also the time that we scrapbookers seem to nest in more and settle into some crop time! If you are looking for inspiration or a challenge, HYWWP is the place to be! We have our traditional monthly challenges as well as our annual Scrap Pink for the month of October in our effort to endorse breast cancer awareness. More details below!

============

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Breast Cancer affects 1 in 8 women and thousands of new cases are diagnosed each year. However, studies have shown that with some good information and a solid awareness about this disease, early detection is the key! Please join us for the entire month as we host our annual Scrap Pink event at HYWWP. There are some fantastic scrappy and non scrappy challenges, games and times of just celebrating friends, courage, survival and reminding eachother to "make time for the girls."

===============

Top 5 Hints for Great Halloween Photos

5. Jack-O-Lantern Jive
Light your jack-o-lantern with two or three candles and turn your flash off to capture the perfect pumpkin picture. Because the jack-o-lanterns are less antsy than your little ghosts and ghouls, you can use a longer shutter speed and set your camera on a still surface.

4. Eerie Effects
Remember holding flashlights under your face when telling a scary story when you were a kid? The lighting can be terribly effective and fun so pull out those flashlights!

3. Spooky silhouettes
Use the natural outdoor dusk light to create spooky silhouettes! This is also the time to get those photos of the costumes. Using the flash will wash out those little goblin faces. Use the natural light to your advantage.

2. Awesome Idea
Capture the transformation of your kiddo into whatever character they are turning into! Take the pictures from the same angle to keep consistency. Putting on the costume, putting on the make up, mask, etc.

1. Top 10

Take loads and loads of pictures, have a great time scrapping them and don’t forget to share them in our gallery!

Peanut Butter & Jelly

I bought Cosmo Cricket's Line "Earth Love" last week and made this great layout! I am thrilled with the outcome, but even more thrilled with this line! It is so easy to work with and so versatile!
I obviously threw in my own touches, but i needed a great filler and this was totally what I wanted! Best thing.....I didn't even have to use any of the 12x12 papers! REALLY! All I did was cut pieces off the front piece that showed little bits and pieces of what was included in the pack! How awesome is that?

This layout was also part of the August sketch challenge on Have Your Way With Paper.

Fall 2008

This LO was for the "Back 2 School" challenge at Have Your Way With Paper. The object was to scrap a school picture (either new or old).

I scraplifted Ashley's "Pretty In Pink" layout. I changed a few things around, of course. I used my Cricut to cut out the big blue circle, Thickers for the title. I used pre-made die-cuts for the birdies and the the littel green circle. The birdie and tree branch are hand cut out from a sheet of patterned paper. I used one of my edge punches for the notebook paper look. I then decided to crumple the edge for that traditional 'torn-out-of-the-notebook' look. I added a little white stitching around the blue circle and the scalloped paper. I also added some black stitching on the straight blue paper.

Yup! A brand new kit ready for you to order!

Small Change/Addition to My Blog

As you all know, this site has been mainly directed towards helpful information for fellow scrappers. I will continue to post any and all information I come across. I do not plan on taking anyting away, but I would like to make a small addition or two.

I am currently a member of the Have Your Way With Paper family. There are several challenges which go on every month. I always try me best to complete those challenges; for no other reason than for the challenge itself. So, with that being said, I have decided I will post my individual creations here along with some notes to accompany that project (products used, techniques, photo altering, the story behind it, etc....)

I also intend to add a challenge or two of my own every month here on this site. I will also continue to post 1-2 sketches for you to work on every month.

Also, feel free to visit the other two blogs, 101 Ways To Scrap and Scrapbooking Storage Solutions, as I will try to keep those updated as often as possible as well.

I want to keep my readers happy and interested and to do that, I need to be around more and occasionally make some changes. I promise I will try.

As always, if you have your own suggestions as to what you like to see here, just send me an email. My email link is off to the right under "Basic Info."

Thanks for sticking around and show me some of that wonderful creativity I know you all have!

Let's See It

Okay, so I've been a bit MIA for a bit. Okay, I've fallen off the face of the Earth for a long time. I am so sorry about that. Time has just gotten away from me. So, to get things moving again, I have a small project for you.

I want to see a fall themed project. It can be a card, a layout, an altered item, anything goes. I just want to see some work going on.

To get you started, here is a Halloween card I made. Roe, from Have Your Way With Paper made it this month's card challenge. She also gave us this LINK for instructions. It took more time to choose the papers I was going to use than to make the whole card itself.

Send me YOUR fall project (my email link can be found under "Basic Info" to the right) and I'll be happy to show it off here. Just be sure to include your web/blog link if you have one.

Fresh Look, Classic Style

by Cassandra Cooper on Monday, June 22, 2009; 1:59 PM

We are so excited to open our doors to the SHABBY GREEN DOOR, a new division of DAISY BUCKET DESIGNS and the debut of our first collection, FARMERS MARKET.

A few months ago, I was inspired by an artist that shared her journey of moving and how that inspired her to recreate a new look and feel for her home. She brought along many of her favorite treasures but chose to repurpose items to fit into their new home. Changing color pallets, putting furniture pieces in rooms they had never been in, and choosing new artwork. She essentially decided to recreate a new space that reflected where they were in their lives now.

As our lives change from season to season, so do we. We grow and become more than we were yesterday. SHABBY GREEN DOOR is that expression of where we are going creatively. Looking at the world around us and seeing things a bit different. Looking for fresh looks with classic style. We hope you will walk through our door and join us as we unlock the door to CREATIVITY and find new inspiration!

Paris Hilton Reveals Her New Line

Over the weekend, Paris Hilton's line of craft products called the Paris Hilton Creativity Collection (www.pariscreativity.com) was on display at the Craft and Hobby Association in Anaheim, Calf. Yes, you heard right! Paris allegedly keeps a scrapbook .. one can only imagine what's inside it.

Wordle is GREAT for Scrapbooking!

Want to try something new to add to your pages? Try Wordle! Give it a shot and play around a bit. IF you want some of your words to be bigger than others, try typing that word more than a few times. The more times you type the word, the bigger it gets. Here's an example:

COSTCO & SAM's Has Scrap Supplies!

Thanks to Imagine That (Everything Cricut), I can share this great news with you!

The best selection is online. In the store, I remember never knowing what Costco was going to have.

Click HERE for Costco's scrapbooking section. They've got a lot of Karen Foster & Heidi Swapp--and a section of Provo Craft items, although I thought they were just average prices.

Click HERE for Sam's Club's scrapbooking section, including Copic Markers at a good price (as I understand, I'm still Copically challenged at this point) and Nestabilities sets of 4 for $54 including shipping.

Peachy Cheap Lowers Shipping!

My dear friend, Krissy from Have Your Way With Paper, just informed me of some great news from Peachy Cheap!! Read on!

Thanks to all my loyal customers who have given some fantastic input and feedback regarding PeachyCheap. One of the common themes was asking for a shipping price break for some of the lighter items. From now on PeachyCheap will be adjusting shipping rates for every daily deal and shipping rates will be shown during the check out process.

Heidi Grace Announces a New Business

Nancy Nally reported on Scrapbook Update the following information on 6/9/09.

Heidi Grace Kress (better known to most scrapbookers as just “Heidi Grace”) announced recently that she is starting a new business since Fiskars discontinued her consumable product line.

Kress’s company Heidi Grace Designs was bought by Fiskars in late 2005. In January 2009, Fiskars announced that they were discontinuing all consumable products. This left Kress, who designed scrapbook paper and embellishments, with nothing to design for the Fiskars line bearing her name.

According to her blog, Kress has opened a new company called “clever“. The company will produce and sell items not covered by her non-compete clause in her Fiskars contract, primarily children’s clothing, children’s decor and one-of-a-kind art pieces. Kress has opened a boutique in her hometown to sell the items, and plans an Etsy store as well. Some items will be made available for wholesale.

A Recipe for Friendship

When I went to the retreat in Tipton, she read this before dinner. I loved it. I wanted to share it with you today.

A Recipe For Friendship

Place the ingredients in a basket and take out the corresponding item for each application.

These are the ingredients for chocolate chip cookies☺

Items Needed:
• Shortening
• Sugar
• Eggs
• Vanilla
• Flour
• Baking Soda
• Salt
• Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips
• Nuts

A Recipe For Friendship

Friendships are wonderful gifts to our lives straight from God. There are several references to friendship in the Bible. I think of the relationship of David and Jonathan (1 Samuel 18-20, 2 Samuel 1). Those chapters in Samuel are great reading. Jonathan and David had a great love and respect for each other. I think of how God called Abraham, “friend” (James 2:23). Moses also comes to mind. Remember how God spoke to him, “face to face, as a man speaketh to his friend” (Exodus 33:11)?
When it comes to our sisters in Christ, friendship takes on a special quality. Friendship between Christians is especially sweet because of the bond of Christ. We are enhanced by those special friendships. Building those friendships is a wonderful way to encourage and lift up others in the Lord.'

Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 15:5,6. Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2. Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of a man's friend by hearty counsel. Proverbs 27:9.

Friends are one of the ways God takes care of us. We need all the things friendship entails from other human contact such as encouragement, companionship, love, honesty, loyalty, understanding, and so many more things friendship offers.
Our friendships with our sisters in Christ are like recipes of goodness for us. They bake up something special. You may have heard that saying, “In the cookies of life, friends are the chocolate chips”. Friends are that sweet extra in life and even sweeter is friendship among believers in Christ.

Why is a recipe for fellowship and friendship with our sisters in Christ is so Important? Let’s check out the ingredients and see what they do.

Sisters In Christ Friendship Recipe

• Shortening - Provides texture. Our fellowship and friendship with our sisters in the Lord can add much depth and texture to our lives. We blend together in unity as part of the body of Christ.

• Sugar - Adds sweetness. Our fellowship with our sisters adds such a sweet taste to our lives. If we didn't have sugar in our cookies, we'd sure miss it. The same is with our fellowship with our sisters. We can't leave it out of our lives.

• Eggs - Holds ingredients together. Sisters in the Lord are someone to lean on. We are held together by fellowship with them. We are stronger because of them, their prayers, and their love in the Lord. We have a special bond in Christ.

• Vanilla - Adds flavor. Sisters add that flavor we need. They give us that extra sensation. Without friends and fellowship we become kind of bland.

• Flour - Adds substance. We need the substance a sister in the Lord can add. They give us many things by way of mentoring us when we don't even know it. Their shared testimonies and way they live their lives has an impact on us.

• Baking Soda – Leavens. Leavening agents in baking helps to lighten the dough. Friendship with our sisters in Christ lightens our burdens through their prayer and encouragement.

• Salt - Enhances flavor. We know that friendships add flavor and just when we need it, they help improve the tastefulness and quality of our lives. Friends are the type of people that know just what we are going through and are there when we need them.

• Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips - The kind of chocolate chips we normally add to our cookies is semi sweet. Our sister friends tell us what they feel and think and that's okay. They can be honest and truthful to us. “Iron sharpeneth iron" (Proverbs 27:17).

• Nuts...Optional - Just a little craziness in a sister friend is great! Sometimes a little zaniness in our friends can be just the ingredient we need.

Conclusion:
Friendships take a lot of time and effort to bake up but they are worth it when we sense that sweet aroma and special bond that they bring.
Friends that have Jesus in common will have lasting relationships, not just here on earth, but will dwell with Christ together throughout eternity.
“A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.” Proverbs 18:24.

I wonder if I’m the type of friend that I should be to others, especially to my sisters in Christ. Am I doing all those things that I should be doing, like lifting burdens, adding flavor, helping hold things together with my prayers, and all those other things? I hope I can improve in this area.

So, is your life a good recipe for friendship?

"Next Besties" by Betty Bee

We all love that sharp embossed edge that Nestabilities give their die cuts, but sometimes they don't have the size or shape that we might need. Betty Bee, from Betty Bee's Buzz has found a way to use the Cuttlebug, and her Cricut (or you can use any cutting system) to create "Next Besties", because they are the next best thing! I hope this will give you some ideas so that you can create something fabulous!

Treasured Memories 17 hour Crop

This was so cool! It was 7 hours on Friday, Feb. 6th and 10 hours on Saturday, Feb 7th.

Ok, so I was only there on Saturday for 10 hours, but it was great. I only got about 5 layouts done, but I got to meet some really cool ladies and a wonderful Creative Memories rep.

Since we each had an 8' table to ourselves, it was very easy to spread out and get comfortable. There was a wide variety of drinks and snacks avaiable for consumption. And there was someone there at all times if any of us needed anything.

We were able to enjoy some great Valentine's Day make-n-take tags, complete with glitter as well as some great door prizes and fun games.

I will definitely be going again!

Distress Stickles?

Yup! You read it right! DISTRESS STICKLES!

Distress Stickles was 2 years in the making because Tim Holtz wanted to find just the right look to achieve a chunky glass-like texture and nostalgic shimmer of mica...the result - pure distress! The glitter in distress stickles is not a metallic glitter like our original stickles, it has a timeless sparkle of vintage glass glitter without the glass! Accent stamped images, tags, titles or just about anything you want to glitter and shine.

Don't forget, we will also be attending the Great American Scrapbook Convention. After all, that's one of the reasons for this trip!

We will all arrive on Friday, June 4th. Most of us will probably arrive by mid-afternoon. We will all meet up at the Drury Inn where we will check-in, go to our rooms, unpack whatever and fight over who gets what bed. Then, we'll probably meet in the lobby bar for our 3 complimentary alcoholic drinks. Afterwards, we'll head up to the suite (which I will be bunking in with Roe and Jenn) and enjoy our complimentary popcorn and sodas while eating some awesome pizza!!!

Saturday, June 5th, we will all meet up in the hotel Dining Room for a FULL breakfast, southern style!! Complete with hash browns, eggs, bacon, pancakes and much, much more!!! From there, we will head over to the Convention where we will all split up into groups or individuals and shop, shop, shop. At lunchtime, we will all eat together there and share what we have purchased and what great deals we found and where. Then, per Trisha's suggestion, we will watch this guy peel a banana ever so slowly as he prepares our smoothies. We will, then, continue with our shopping until we are all done or the convention closes. We will finish off the day with 3 more complimentary alcoholic drinks, popcorn and sodas as we head to our suite for a slumber party where we will share all our new goodies and laugh, giggle and relive our younger days as we get into pillow fights and freeze other's undies and.....oh, hold on.....sorry.

Sunday, June 6th, we will meet up in the hotel Dining Room again for our last full breakfast and fill up for the way home. Somewhere that afternoon, either before or just after lunch, we will all break and head home.

Croppin' at the Speedway

If you are interested in sharing a few hours with your friend in a homey atmosphere to crop, chit-chat and munch, email me and I'll save a spot for you. I have room for 2-4 people.

Prices are $5, $15 or $25. You will have your own 3'-6' table (depends on how many reserve), use of a variety of items for free. Snacks and other goodies will be provided as well. I will also have a few items for purchase.

I have converted my new home office strictly for Cropping. It is an 11x10 room. You may come and go as you please. Plenty of lighting and space available. You can park on the street and I will help you load/unload your scrapbooking supplies. The cropping room is upstairs and I will happily 'valet' your items up and down the stairs while you relax and help yourself to some snacks and drinks.

I will also have a variety of 'give and take' scraps, punches, scissors, templates, die cuts, stamps, ribbons, brads and more avaiable for use. For a small fee, you can also have unlimited access to the printer and cricut machine.

I can accommodate up to four scrappers; however, you may choose to use 6' for yourself. If this is your choice, your price will slightly increase, unless only two have reserved a space. In which case, you'll get 2 spots for the price of ONE!

I will be readily available for questions and suggestions. I will also have a few idea books/magazines available for you as well.

Hope to see you soon!

Send me an e-mail! Let's see what we can do! Check out the CALENDAR below for available days and times.

Sorry, but smoking will be strictly prohibited.

WE've MOVED!!!

I have moved over to Brownsburg, Indiana, just 1/2 mile west of 267/136. Once we've completely moved to our new location and things have settled a bit, I will get the crops going again.

I'm sorry for any inconvenience and I'm so sorry to disapoint anyone. If you are looking for a place to crop until then, be sure to check out Archiver's and coming soon, Treasured Memories Retreat!!

Again, I'm so sorry for any inconvenience, but rest assured, we will be up and running again very soon! On the bright side, moving means more space to crop!!

Creative Memories' Bankuptcy

Wow! Well, that's news to me! I just heard that CREATIVE MEMORIES FILES CHAPTER 11!! Unbeleivable! Check out the link and read all about it!

I am on Display

Out of 200 entries, I and Marlene's projects were chosen to be displayed on Prima's website for their October, Breast Awareness project. Check it out! Marlene's is the 3rd one down and mine is the 4th.

SKETCHES

Click the SKETCHES links for some great building blocks to create some amazing works of art. There are no actual photo sizes mentioned because these are just something to get you started; inspiration, if you will. Play around with them, turn them sideways, add some embellishments, make them your own.
Feel free to use any of the sketches and forward them to your friends. All I ask is you refer them back to this site so they can check things out as they progress. There aren't a whole lot of sketches available right now, but I plan to add more as time goes by. Come back periodically to see the changes and additions. Thanks and have fun with those sketches.

June 2009 HYWWP 1st Annual Get Together

June 4-6, 2009
Arlington, Texas
Great American Scrapbook Convention

AIRPORT:Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) airport is said the be the easiest and quickest. Jenny said it is only 10 minutes from the hotel we were looking at (Drury Inn) and just minutes away from the Convention center. The Convention is only $9 for the day - I believe - something close to that anyway.

ACCOMODATIONS:If we chose to stay at this hotel (THE DRURY INN) we would have
*a free hot breakfast - It's really good
*free dinner each night - We only stayed one night, but we had pizza (hand made good stuff), baked potatoes with the fixings, salad, dessert, drinks - cokes, tea, coffee, whatever you wanted.
*3 complimentary drinks during happy hour - you can take them to your room.
*free internet
*free LONG DISTANCE CALLS FROM YOUR ROOM up to an hour a day!
*access to a computer/internet
*pool

Anyway, it seems like a good choice to me with the free food - we won't have to worry about anything but lunch as an expense.
I THINK the hotel runs about $100 a night I THINK...but I will look more into that and come up with a close figure...I think I can find some coupons to cut down on that.
I really can't find a house that is more convenient or accommodating, but we have time and I'm up for suggestions:)
Trisha

Since my parents do live so close to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, they will be parking vehicles for the Indy 500, Brickyard 400 and MotoGP Races.

You can email me at paula00750@yahoo.com to make reservations for any of these races. Please be sure to let me know your name, how many vehicles will need a space and the type of vehicle. If there are several vehicles coming together I will reserve your spots so you are all able to get out at the same time. I will make sure to relay this information to my parents.
The following prices are for regular vehicles only. Campers and large vehicles like that will depend on how large and if electricity and water usage is necessary. You're looking at $10 the day before the race and $20 the day of the race. If you would like to stay the weekend and camp out, it's $45 (this would include water and electricity usage - if this is not necessary, $35).
All I ask in return is a simple "Thank You" and a reference back to this site.
I hope to see you for the next race!! You'll have a blast
